Tweet A Twitter
One thing I like about Twitter is that I get to find out some interesting non-important things about people who I most likely will never meet. (E.g., Hugh Hefner’s engagement to Crystal Harris) Next up, Charlie Sheen’s midlife crisis!
(A midlife crisis is experienced between the ages of 40 and 60. It was first identified by the psychologist Carl Jung and is a normal part of the maturing process.)

Random Bagel Man
I really can’t get over how amazing this week has been. Life, you have been so good to me. And it really has been simple.
I didn’t have class Monday because of the holiday and on Tuesday, I had class online. Since my internet connection isn’t that great on the house computer, I decided to borrow a laptop from a friend. I went to the Coffee Connection and tried my first bubble tea! It was good but that’s not really where the story begins.
I just thought the bubbles were cool to eat.
In the beginning of the week, my mom told me how my cousin was talking to her and my other family members about this lady he works with. She was talking to her coworkers if they could help her out by collecting plastics lids, bottle caps and things of the sort because she happens to have cancer, and the organization that is helping her told her that if she collects 750 bottle caps, they would help with one session of chemotherapy. So every 750 caps equals one session. I’m not sure how many times she’s able to do this.
On my Wednesday, I took my Sociology exam and got 41 out of 50. 82%. I got 10% more than the last one. I watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind hosted by the Art Guild in the Art building. I made myself look like a total dumbass for wearing shorts to school when there was snow on the ground, but in my defense, all the snow in Salt Lake melted and I thought it was going to be like that at school, which happens to be 40 miles from where I live. Who would have known? After taking my exam, I started to gather some bottle caps out of the recycling cans. It was a pretty big break for me cause usually I would try talking myself out of it but I just went for it. There was a study group looking at me like “wtf?” I didn’t care if they were judging me. I just did not care. When I was heading home around 8pm on the Frontrunner, I stumbled upon a penny, that led me to another penny, and to another penny, and that penny led me to a quarter. I ended up collecting 73 cents.
On Thursday, I received good news from the doctor. Later in the night, I had been invited to my friends 23rd birthday, so two of my other friends who were also invited came along and we met up with the other group to this one sushi restaurant called Tsunami. I didn’t think I was going to try anything because I don’t really like fish, and thought I would just drink water and eat dessert. I ended up ordering a sushi entree. I wanted to try something new and turns out, I LOVE SUSHI! And I also didn’t know you could fry a banana. It was part of our dessert.
On Friday, I went to my Sociology class. My only class of the day. I didn’t have anything better to do so I checked all the recycling bins in the Social Science building and collected all the bottle caps that I could get. I still got weird looks. At one point, a class just stared at me and laughed. The staring still didn’t bother me. I didn’t care if I looked like I was scavenging for whatever they thought I was looking for. I kept thinking of how much it was going to help my cousins coworker. I never felt better and sure about anything like that before.
After the bottle cap picking, I was waiting for the bus and a man with a suit came and walked up to my friend Mary and I, and offered us bagels. He was at the Institute of Religion just right across the street and had left over bagels and offered everyone at the bus stop one. What a nice man.
And that, is why I had such a great week.

The “Thing” (School Use)
My thing to do is sewing. It may sound boring and granny-ish but only if you don’t have flare. People who are new to sewing learn how to assemble the machine and thread together. They usually start off with easy patterns like cynch bags and pajama pants. When learning all of this, you also have to know the definitions of what kind of stiches there are and what kinds of things you can do to fabric to make it look more presentable. When you get familiar with these, you can go onto more complex patterns, which I think is fun because you work on what you want.

“Don’t Stop Believing”
There just seems to be a time when I desperately need to be alone. All I really want to do now is listen to Journey. So many people talk about how “rad” the 80’s were and others talk about how “bitchin” the 60’s were, but no one really talks about how “awesome” the 70’s were. If I had one chance to go back in time, I wouldn’t use it to meet Marilyn Monroe, who I greatly adore, or to see the turn of the century, which would be amazing, hands down, but I would definitely go back to the 70’s. Haven’t we all seen Dazed and Confused? This will be cut short.
